Sep 26, 2017 I installed 64-bit VLC version 2.2.4 and then downloaded/installed the 64-bit.xpi file. I'm using Firefox 47.0 64-bit, and when I download the 64-bit.XPI file, it appears to install in Firefox, but doesn't show up on the Plug-ins page, but rather the Extensions page. Again, it works fine on Firefox; I downloaded Waterfox again last night, uninstalled Silverlight and installed it again, and still, nothing. Works great on Firefox, now on Waterfox I just get black screens. It seems to recognize that Silverlight is installed now, it just won't display it properly.
